What you need to know

​​​The Division of Developmental Disabilities and Division of Medicaid and Long-Term Care, along with the Optumas Healthcare consulting team, are working to design the most appropriate and effective institutional level of care (LOC) assessment criteria and tools to achieve our mission of helping people live better lives.

Summary of Phases

A Technical Advisory Group (TAG) serves both phases. It includes clinical, academia, provider, and policy perspectives. Listening sessions are held for adults and children, including families, people in services, and advocates.

  • Changes to Children's Nursing Facility Level of Care Criteria were implemented January 1, 2021 in 471 NAC 43.

DHHS held a Webex Presentation for the Nursing Facility Level of Care Assessment Project. Optumas presented findings from Phase I: Nursing Facility (NF) Level of Care.

Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) Listening Session (April 22, 2020)

DHHS held a Webex Listening Session for the Institutional Level of Care Assessment Redesign Project. The purpose was to hear from stakeholders on Phase II: Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) Level of Care Assessments. The ICF Listening Session covered Child and Adult processes.
